A police officer and former Mr Gay UK winner denied sexual offence charges, including rape, at a hearing at Leeds Crown Court yesterday.
PC Mark Carter, 27, pleaded not guilty to a series of charges which include male rape, two sexual assaults on males, attempted rape and attempted sexual assault. There are four alleged victims.
Mr Carter was suspended from his position as an officer in the West Yorkshire Police force following the alleged attacks on December 18th and 19th 2009 at a hotel in Leeds city centre, which led to his arrest.
He was also accused of possessing the Class C drug Stanazol, which is thought to be used as a bodybuilding steroid.
Mr Carter was named Mr Gay UK 2006 and came runner-up in the European contest the following year. The trial begins at Leeds Crown Court on December 13th.
